The self-sufficiency movement was created as a platform to join families, business owners, and the non-profit community in a monumental partnership. We are forming a group of dedicated individuals committed to maintaining independence. This movement will focus on making sure that people learn the skills needed to become self-sufficient and raise children to become productive citizens. We are not giving handouts, rather an opportunity to learn the skills needed to survive in today's changing world. The core values of the movement include:
Helping to create Informed Consumers and Productive Citizens
We operate the movement under the following three tenants:
1) Give a man a fish and he eats for a day but teach a man a fish and he eats for a lifetime.”~Chinese Proverb
2) “You do not need to be a mathematician to know if someone is cheating you”. Loralyn Penzella
3) The adulthood is being able to decide when to investigate the situation, ask for help or “fly solo”. Loralyn Penzella
