You-Turn Project has the following volunteer opportunities available:
Watch Me Turn Mentor
We are actively recruiting adults twenty-five years or older to serve as program mentors. All candidates must possess valid California Drivers License and pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint clearance. Mentors will be assigned to a former program participant to help facilitate the remaining goals in the self-sufficiency plan. This opportunity requires a minimum commitment of two hours per week and may be expanded as the needs of the students change. We offer various levels of mentors depending on the age of the student and self-sufficiency goals. All mentors are required to keep logs on each student summarizing daily living progress or challenges. This information is extremely valuable to our Research/Development Department as they calculate our outcome measures and outline suggestions for program enhancement.
You-Turn Project is also looking for volunteers to practice our daily living skills concepts with our clients. For example, we need Volunteers to practice interviewing our clients for a job. We provide the questions and the framework for all daily living skills concepts.
